Live Burn Training - Tire Fire

 CAFS IS THE ANSWER FOR RAPID SUPPRESSION OF STUBBORN TIRE FIRES!
   
The focus of this exercise was to demonstrate the effectiveness of a CAFS stream when applied to burning tires. There were 12 automobile tires that were placed in a pyramid fashion with 5 gallons of diesel fuel applied. The tires were allowed a 5 minute pre-burn.

Application was done with a Darley AutoCAFS system at a .5% CLASS A foam solution flow rate.

Application rate was 20 GPM @ 60 CFM to create a heavy bodied, blanketing type of foam.

Suppression was done in approximately  30 seconds utilizing 10 gallons of water/foam solution!
